An ocelot that had been trapped in a cage, tranquilized, and fitted with a radio collar regains her senses in the comfort of her den—a hollow log. Researchers are using an automated radiotelemetry system (ARTS) to track many ocelots on Barro Colorado Island. Seven radio towers built around the island pick up signals from the collars and send them back to computers, which constantly monitor the cats' locations and activity levels.
