Members of the Lily Cai Chinese Dance Company create elegant and captivating images using sheer white sheets as extensions of their bodies while dancing to a solo cello in "Si Ji" ("Four Seasons"). The dancers explore the mysteries of nature as the sheets reflect the colors and emotions of the seasons—cold blue winter, hot red summer, romantic gold autumn, and emerging green spring. "Our dance is more like Chinese calligraphy," says artistic director Cai. "My dream is to give American dance a Chinese face."
